A Very Valid Point Behind Conspiracies
The wilder the Conspiracy Theories, the more people pay no attention to Government and hand them more power in the process. Even then, people attribute such vast long-term knowledge and schemes to these people it is unbelievable. I have worked with people on Capitol Hill, in Europe and Asia. The reason they called me was simply because I understood the game. They only care about the next election – not 20 down the road. Whatever they have to do to protect themselves today they will do and and consequences long-term are never considered. Looking at it from the outside, people assume there is some scheme and begin to attribute wild theories trying to explain a patchwork of self-interest.
The conspiracy about the Fed being owned by banks is classic. The Fed was supposed to be a backup to bailout banks like JP Morgan did in the Panic of 1907 pictured here. The money supply was to be elastic expanding to ease a panic and stop a bank run without having to dump assets foreclosing on homes, and then contract the money supply when things improved and the bank run was over. The popular conspiracy was JP Morgan wanted to control the entire world and all the money would be his. They seem to always create such aspirations on people like that perhaps out of jealousy.
Stimulation of the economy was to take place by purchasing short-term corporate paper to prevent a contraction. That design made sense and the banks were members contributing capital. Then came World War I and Congress needed to sell bonds and ORDERED the Fed to buy their paper not corporate. They never put the Fed back to its original design. Then someone said INFLATION is causes by an increase in money supply, which isWRONG as QE1-3 has proven. So the Fed was now to sterilize whatever Congress did and that relieved Congress of any responsibility over fiscal management. If you go through each step, you will see that the Fed was NEVER intended to be what it is today. It is always a work in process for with each crisis, Congress only messes things up again. It is always self-interest – not long-term schemes over decades.
I thought a reader put it pretty good.
COMMENT SENT BY A READER:
Mr. Armstrong,
You are absolutely right. Years ago, I came to the same conclusion as you about conspiracies.
The simple fact is that anyone who works for a large organization has an inherent conflict of interest. Any time they are faced with a choice between what’s good for the public and what’s good for their employer, self-interest dictates that they will choose the employer. It doesn’t matter whether someone works for a government, trade union, corporation, bank, or university. Revealing the truth about dangerous, illegal or unethical behavior – even anonymously – might damage the organization, placing their livelihood at risk. Most people won’t take that chance.
The Penn State child abuse cover-up is a perfect example – it wasn’t really a conspiracy, it was just a lot of people choosing to protect a monster because it served their own self-interest.
This is why Edward Snowden is so remarkable: he was willing to give up everything in order to publicly share the truth. Look what it cost him.
No wonder the rank-and-file employees at big institutions keep their mouths shut about anything that might have a negative impact on their payroll.
The problems we face now are not the result of shadowy cabals, they are the result of countless individuals making perfectly rational and understandable decisions to protect their jobs. Isn’t that why the trend is irreversible? It’s a downward spiral: the worse things get, the more people will do anything to keep their jobs, causing things to get even worse. Isn’t this what you always say? That human nature drives the cycles?
Keep up the great work. You may be the lone voice crying in the wilderness, but you have many listeners.

Conspiracy Theories = Communism
Constantly people insist there has to be these “rich” trillionaires who are out to enslave all people and create some one-world government. It is power they want not money? Those in the private sector are only concerned about money. Goldman Sachs, I believe, filled government spots to eliminate the power to prosecute them so they could make money – not run government. I believe this is propaganda creating sinister groups is instigated by the very people who want to send the world into communism. For to go get these mythical “rich”, you have to take all the rights away from everyone. Who is trying to gather everything under the sun? The Bilderberg Group? Don’t think so. Have you ever heard of the NSA?
The NSA is even trying to develop a quantum computer. This is the ultimate dream in computer technology. Traditional computers can attempt to crack encryption by several methods. However, they are all limited to generating possible keys necessary to unscramble data one at a time. What the NSA is seeking to develop is a quantum computer that will carry the same type of processing but simultaneously on all possible keys rather than progressively. The difficult part of creating a working quantum computer has been keeping these computational elements stable and functional to interact with each other to produce the final solution. If the NSA can do that, there is nothing anyone will ever have that is private again. It is government who buys the computers, tanks, guns, drones, and has troops – not Goldman Sachs or the Bilderberg Group. The ONLY possible reason to point to groups nobody can produce any hard evidence on to verify a single one of these wild conspiracy theories is to create a diversion from government and to justify that they need even more power because of these conspiracies.
Herbert Hoover wrote in his memoirs that the inquisition against Wall Street was at his direction based on a phone call he received that was one of these conspiracy theories. He wrote…“I urged that the committee launch an investigation of practices of the Exchange, with a view to legislation and I gave them much information to start on. I was extremely loath to take this step as we had enough burdens to carry without all discouraging filth such exposure entailed…There was some doubt as to the constitutionality of the Federal control of the stock exchange …But when a representative government becomes angered, it will burn down the barn to get a rat out of it.”
No such short player was found to overpower the market for the purpose of destroying the Republican Party. But that was the popular conspiracy theory at that time. Or how about the one that there is no gold in Fort Knox. People will swear this is true – yet nobody can prove anything.
In Australia, they used this very tactic to raise taxes. They called it the Luxury Tax and they were targeting the rich bastards and their French Wines, Fur Coats, and Ferarris. Everyone cheered and voted YES. What was in the Luxury Tax? All electronic devices.
Every stock market crash began with the same theory of some mythical short player that forces the market down. Not a single investigation ever turned up this mythical short position that overpowered the market. Everyone was found to be long and lost in the 1929 Crash from Rockefeller on down.
Government is the culprit and it always has been throughout all centuries. Creating these images of bankers who want power, not money, is fantastic for it will empower the government to take everything you own.
Confusing 911 and economics is insane. The Government needed to get rid of WTC7 and the Pentagon to cover their own ass. They let 911 take place and I have stated before the first World Trade Center terrorists were in MCC NYC and were given the markers by Officer Kumb. They drew the world trade center towers on the wall of their cell with airplanes going into it one year before. They prosecuted Lynne Stewart who was a famous civil rights attorney who was known for representing controversial, poor, and often unpopular defendants. She was convicted on charges of conspiracy and providing material support to the terrorists in prison in 2005. They said she passed notes back and forth to the outside world for them. Anyone who questions what I know took place in MCC, feel free to use the Freedom of Information Act to get the photos. If you paid CLOSEattention to the reason WHY they created Home Land Security, it was because such evidence existed in various departments and was not properly “shared” with other agencies.
WHY people have to insist it is some sinister group when government lies to them all the time and is engage in power, I really do not understand. The only reason to make this shit up that they cannot prove is to help government take all our rights just as Hoover launched his investigation from which the SEC was born even though they found no short position. Create these groups, and you will hand government MORE power.
Thomas Jefferson put it best: “When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.” Even if these conspiracy theories were true, what will you do about it? Ask for help from government? These theories make people fear not government but sinister groups nobody can put their finger on. Jefferson also said: “My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.” Those who are so desperate to disagree with me had better look at what they are saying. You are either with the people or government – there is no third choice. It was this same pointing at the rich that justified the Russian Revolution and the confiscation of all wealth. Is that what you really want?
What About Britain?
QUESTION: Do you see IMF appropriations for non-Eurozone countries like Britain? Or was it solely the Eurozone mentioned in the plans. Surely they would rather devalue their currency than something like this in Britain? Not sure the Brits would put up with this. Do you remember the Poll Tax riots suffered by Thatcher?
Best regards,
PR
ANSWER: I am in contract with some members of Parliament. I believe that any such expropriation will force Britain to leave the EU. It could also push for the Scottish separation. Based upon my contacts, I believe it would cause a massive uprising and I do not believe that Parliament would tolerate that for it would wipe out the British banking Industry overnight. In Europe, government far too often owns chunks of the banks themselves.
I do remember the Poll Tax of Maggie. It was in theory a good idea that everyone should contribute something to government and in theory they should then pay more attention to what goes on there, But theory and practice are two separate things.
This is one of the primary reasons with money moving to electronic and chronic perpetual borrowing has become the norm for government, currency is not simply notes (electronic and/or bonds) that merely pay interest. There is no need to borrow or to tax the people. This is not the gold standard where we have to get some money back to meet payroll. Stop the borrowing and we would save 70% of the accumulative national debts. The IMF proposal is not only Marxist in the full Communistic fashion taking the view what is held by the people belongs to the state, but it is so destructive of a normal economic growth model you have to wonder if these people are the ones who had to go to the special education classes because they were far behind the average person. In American terms – we just say they took the little bus to school.

Has Obama – Feinstein – McCain Violated the Civil Rights of Snowden?
It is a violation of civil rights to falsely arrest anyone and to and to engage in aCONSPIRACY for Malicious Prosecution of that individual. Such criminal prosecutions are common by the Feds targeting local police. But these types of violations are in themselvesSELECTIVE prosecutions for they tend to focus only of the discrimination based upon race. This is why we need the independent office of the old Roman Tribune who was an official separately elected who could prosecute any government office for what Obama, Feinstein and McCain have publicly advocated against Snowden. We have the stripped down version of the Office of Inspector General, however, this is an appointment and it is subordinate to the Department of Justice who is run by a White House appointment. There will NEVER be honesty in government without an independently elected Tribune who should not be a member of any party but who is nominated by the legal profession.
Actually, Ben Franklin proposed that Judges should not be appointed by politicians but rather we should have adopted the Scottish system where the lawyers nominated judges for they would always nominate the best so they could take their clients afterwards. Likewise, we need desperately a check and balance within government and that has to be a totally independently elected Office of Inspector General who has the full powers of the old Roman Tribune with nominations EXCLUSIVELY by a national vote of lawyers not even a some small committee that can be bribed.
Only such a tribune would have the duty, obligation, and mandate to indict Obama, Feinstein and McCain under the CONSPIRACY laws to violate the civil rights of Edward Snowden and any other whistle-blower against government corruption. Only when there is some independent check and balance will we ever get close to actually honest government. Anyone in government who has called Edward Snowden a “traitor” has abused their power and violated the civil rights of the entire nation. They cannot write laws that protect themselves or usurp powers the Constitution did not bestow upon them.
The Supreme Court has acknowledged ”No law has any effect, of its own force, beyond the limits of the sovereignty from which its authority is derived.” Hilton v Guyot, 159 US 113, 163 (1895). What Congress has assumed by calling Snowden a traitor is that THEY are the sovereign nation – not the people. The Supreme Court has stated numerous times that the GOVERNMENT is not the “sovereign” for only the people are.
To even justify the American Revolution, they had to separate the people from the monarch to state that the nation was the people, not government. Of course this was Thomas Paine’s opening proposition in his Common Sense that everyone acknowledges justified the American Revolution on that very basis.
One of the earliest Supreme Court cases Chisholm v. State of Georgia, 2 U.S. 419 (1793) states this very position that Congress has forgotten in their arrogance – they are NOT the sovereign:
“Sovereignty is the right to govern; a nation or State-sovereign is the person or persons in whom that resides. In Europe the sovereignty is generally ascribed to the Prince; here it rests with the people; there, the sovereign actually administers the Government; here, never in a single instance; our Governors are the agents of the people, and at most stand in the same relation to their sovereign, in which regents in Europe stand to their sovereigns. Their Princes have personal powers, dignities, and pre-eminences, our rulers have none but official; nor do they partake in the sovereignty otherwise, or in any other capacity, than as private citizens.”
In another very famous case, McCullock v. Maryland, 4 Wheat 316, 404, 405 (1819), the Supreme Court states clearly:
“In the United States, Sovereignty resides in the people, who act through the organs established by the Constitution. “
In the infamous decision that ruled that slaves were property, they had to acknowledge who was sovereign:
“The words ‘people of the United States’ and ‘citizens’ are synonymous terms, and mean the same thing. They both describe the political body who. according to our republican institutions. form the sovereignty, and who hold the power and conduct the Government through their representatives. They are what we familiarly call the ‘sovereign people.’ and every citizen is one of this people, and a constituent member of this sovereignty.”
Dred Scott v. Sandford, 60 U.S. 393 (1856)
In Julliard v Greenman, 110 U.S. 421, (1884), The Supreme Court states once more in very clear terms:
“There is no such thing as a power of inherent sovereignty in the government of the United States… In this country sovereignty resides in the people, and Congress can exercise no power which they have not, by their Constitution entrusted to it: all else is withheld.”
Again in Yick Wo v Hopkins 118 U.S. 356 (1886) the Supreme Court stated very clearly:
“Sovereignty itself is, of course, not subject to law, for it is the author and source of law; but, in our system, while sovereign powers are delegated to the agencies of government, sovereignty itself remains with ~he people. by whom and for whom all government exists and acts”.
In the middle of the Great Depression, the Supreme Court once again stated in Perry v United States, 294 U.S. 330, 353 (1935), very plainly what Congress ignores today:
“The Congress cannot revoke the Sovereign power of the people to override itself as thus declared.”
Finally, in a more modern case, the Supreme Court in Colten v. Kentucky, 407 U.S. 104, 122, 92 S. Ct. 1953 (1972) states one more time;
“The constitutional theory is that we the people are the sovereigns. the state and federal officials only our agents.”
It is IMPOSSIBLE for a whistle-blower who exposes corruption within government to thePEOPLE who are the ONLY sovereign, not Obama, Feinstein, or McCain, to be criminally charged with treason. This is an abuse of process, Malicious and Selective Prosecution, that violates both the Civil Rights of the people and Snowden. Those in Congress who have dared to call Snowden a traitor for exposing their own corruption, are not worthy or office and have violated both Human Rights and Civil Rights. If there were a true independent Tribune, they would be standing trial right now.
