Dubai & The Middle East
The general perception that the countries in the Middle East are flush with cash and are deliberately keeping oil down to harm Iran when it begins to sell is rather childish. Budgets have risen and become bloated. Gasoline prices even rose in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Dubai stocks fell to the lowest in more than two months, leading declines across most markets in the Middle East. The rout unfolded after the UAE’s biggest-listed property construction company reported a third straight quarterly loss. It appears that our real estate model calling for the more general high on a global scale in 2015 appears to be correct at this time from Europe and the USA, off to Asia and the Middle East.
The DFM General Index slid 1.2% to 3,937.34 at noon local time, the lowest since June 2. Arabtec Holding Co. slumped 4.9% to 2.13 dirhams, bringing the decline this year to 24% to the lowest since March.
Our Weekly Bearish lies at the 359530 level followed by the Major at 312727. The critical level is defined by the Monthly Bearish at 338810. A monthly closing beneath this level on a monthly basis will warn that the 2014 high will remain intact and a decline is likely into 2016. This week is a Directional Change so caution is advised.
We Deserve What We Get
QUESTION: Marty— Every post is enlightening. I was intrigued that there is no ‘plunge protection team’. I believe you, because you have been behind the curtain. Then what is the ‘Presidents Working Group’ and what does Kevin Henry do? Enlighten me more!
Thank you.
RK
ANSWER: That was a presidential executive order from 1988. I myself was called in back then because of the 1987 Crash. If such a team existed, then what happened in the 2000 Dot.COM bubble crash? Where were they in 2007-2009? I guarantee you they will not be there the next time either.
There is a huge difference from claiming to create some committee and actually having power, funding, etc to do such a job. The closest you have to that is simply the Federal Reserve. They lowered interest rates to help the banks and are now trapped. They have screwed the entire pension fund community and you have the rest of the world pleading with them not to raise rates, but the fact of the matter is there is no such omnipotent group pulling the strings perfectly.
Some people just have to believe in some dark sinister forces. They are lost souls incapable of seeing the truth. I met with governments around the world. Why even ask me anything if they are in control? It is a complete hoax. Nobody is in control and I suppose the only thing that will prove that is the collapse of government. Ah, then there will be those who will claim it was a Rothschild and Banker’s plot to destroy all wealth somehow.
This is what makes me just want to leave and migrate to some island and say the hell with the world – they get what they deserve. Those people who create such conspiracy theories will lose everything and quite frankly they deserve what they get. If there are such forces who prevent gold from rising or other wild scenarios, then why fight against such a huge power? I just do not get it. Give up then since you cannot win.
Hillary Claims it’s All Politics So She Will Not Answer Questions
The State Department emails shows Hillary bought a book “Send: Why People Email So Badly and How to Do It Better,” by David Shipley and Will Schwalbe. In that book is a special chapter showing she knew what she was up to. Chapter Six: “The Email That Can Land You In Jail.” The chapter includes a section entitled “How to Delete Something So It Stays Deleted.”
Hillary deliberately DESTROYED emails, she did not just delete them. But the NSA surely has copies. So why is nobody asking the NSA for them? Maybe they do not want to confirm that Snowden was correct after all?
Hillary cleverly sidesteps everything for her emails were in fact subpoenaed and she did not reveal she had a personal server. So they should have been turned over to Congress under subpoena. That is why what she did was criminal – obstruction of justice everyone else goes to jail for. She claims: “It’s not about emails or servers either. It’s about politics.” She claims Benghazi conspiracy theories were debunked by the hearings. But she withheld her emails from the Congressional investigation and DESTROYED them That is contempt of Congress and should be 5 years in prison.
Hillary illustrates why people are getting fed-up with politicians. She said: “I won’t get down in the mud with them. I won’t play politics with national security.” She is pretending that national security comes first. That’s the whole point. Why did all these foreign countries and foreign banks like UBS donate to her foundation? That was “personal” and it was revealed in the emails she deliberately DESTROYED .
The Washington Post reported that the FBI is looking into the security of the private email server that Hillary used when she was secretary of state. The FBI has asked Clinton’s lawyer David Kendall about the security of a thumb drive, containing copies of Clinton’s emails, that Kendall possesses. The Post report cited two anonymous government officials. However, Kendall has confirmed that the government was investigating the security of the devices. The NY Times has also confirmed that the FBI is looking into the procedures used in the private Clinton server. There is no question what Hillary did was criminal. She has counted on her standing in politics to cover everything up.
It really doesn’t matter for Democrats will vote for her and she knows that no matter what the scandal. Others will vote for her simply because she is a woman. That is what she is counting on. We get what we deserve.
Observation from Finland
COMMENT:
Hey Martin.
I really appreciate what you are doing for everybody by writing your blog.
I make sure that I never miss anything that you write. I’m reading and learning everything I can about trading and I can’t wait for the Socrates launch.
You are so right about the bankrupt governments chasing taxes everywhere. Here in Finland people used to retire to Portugal for they didn’t have to pay any taxes from private sector retirement.
Now our finance minister have announced that he will renegotiate our taxthreaty with Portugal or simply terminate the old one so that they can tax everything and everybody, everywhere.
They are also doubling and in somecases tripling the fines for speeding and everything.
This feels so corrupt that I am sure that the people won’t take it quitly.
Keep up the great work
J.P
REPLY: Thank you. This trend is sickening, yet it is absolutely everywhere. This is how society implodes. Governments ALWAYS, and without exception, turn against their own people. That is the inspiration behind revolution and war. Finland has just tripled the number of military reservists that they just called up for refresher training courses. The numbers have swelled from 6,000 last year to 18,000 this year. The response appears to be with growing tensions between Moscow and Helsinki since Finland shares a 1,340-kilometer, or 830 mile, border with Russia.
I Ukraine, the government needs war. They use that as the excuse as to why they will not reform according to the demands of the people. They say AFTER they win the war then the people will get what they demanded. That’s why there was the 100 year War. Government had no right to TAX the people except during periods of war for national defense. The solution – always remain at war to produce taxes.
Right or Wrong? The Search for Human Perfection
QUESTION: Mr. Armstrong, Have you ever been wrong?
ANSWER: On a personal level, of course. We learn from our mistakes, not from our successes. I do not understand why there seems to be such a personal focus of someone’s forecasts. The typical scammer offers some newsletter if you followed these calls you would have made a fortune. That is so stupid because (1) nobody can be right all the time from a personal perspective and (2) nobody will ever follow such forecasts and do as they state when someone says to do so.
If I was personally infallible, then why build a computer? So the question is rather stupid for there is nobody who has ever been correct all the time. We all make mistakes and that is how we learn since wins we just pat ourselves on the back and say brilliant. If you are looking for someone who is infallible, well you better commit suicide and look beyond this planet. This blog is about observations and trying to figure out what makes the world tick. It is not about trying to pretend to be personally always correct. That is stupid.
The key is to understand what the markets are forecasting, not someone’s personal opinion. The markets do not lie and are never wrong. Here is Greece viewed by its share market. It peaked in September 1999 one month after gold bottomed in August 1999. No matter all the hype about the wonders of Euroland and how the Euro would displace the dollar just as they say the same thing in recent years about the Chinese renminbi, the proof is in the trend. Obviously, if you just looked at the markets objectively on a correlated basis, you would see that capital has long since discounted Greece. Some say because the professionals all knew Goldman Sachs helped Greece hide its debt to meet the criteria; Perhaps. This chart does not lie. It shows Greece will depart from the Euro or go to zero. The former is more likely than the latter absent being captured by some invasion.
The markets are always right and claims that they are manipulated or wrong because they are not doing what someone thinks they should do – well the markets are never wrong. You better look at the analyst for the excuses they are making is just nonsense.
The whole object of creating a model is to negate that personal tendency to be wrong which is part of humanity. Governments will never admit an error and will prosecute someone else for their own catastrophes. Personally, nobody can ever be right all the time so it is a fools game to try to claim this analyst is wrong picking something he said since you can do that with anyone. What are you looking for by doing that? Human perfection does not exist. If this is what you are doing, then good luck for unless you learn to make objective judgments then you will not advance in life.
