GARY NORTH'S TIP OF THE WEEK
You may have seen the warning about a worldwide ransomware attack.
Do not open any email attachment that is not accompanied by a detailed
personal letter.
I have been receiving a slew of emails this week, even from what appears to be a
mailing from my Tip of the Week: "Dr Gary Norths Weekly Tip." It is fake.
The emails contain photos of before and after fat people, plus a link. I do not
know if these are part of the attack, but I do not click the link. I delete these
emails.
Here is the story. You may not want to click the link. I don't blame you. But
it's one of my bit.ly short links. You have seen them many times.
This malware is powerful. You have to pay the ransom.
I got an update from Microsoft on Friday. I think it was related to the attack.
If you use Windows, shut down your computer and reboot it. This will install
the update if Microsoft sent it to you. My wife's computer did not receive it.
