C. S. Lewis - ′′ Advice of an Older Devil to a Younger One ′′ - book written in 1942

A young devil: - How did you send so many souls to hell?
The old devil: - Through fear!
The young devil: - Good job!
What were they afraid of?
War Famine?
The old devil: - No... Of a disease!
The young devil: - They didn't get sick?
Weren't they dying? There was no cure?
The old devil: -... they got sick. They died.
There was a cure...
The young devil: - I don't understand...
The old devil: - They mistakenly believed that the only thing they have to keep at all costs is LIFE!!!
They didn't hug....
They didn't salute each other...
They moved away from each other!
They gave up all human contacts...
Everything human!
They ran out of money.
They lost their job.
But feared for their lives even if they didn't have bread.
They believed everything they heard,
read newspapers,
and blindly believed everything they read.
They gave up on freedom
They never left home.
They didn't go anywhere
They did not visit family and friends.
The world turned into a great concentration camp with voluntary prisoners.
They accepted everything!!!
Just to survive another miserable day...
They didn't live,
they died every day!
It was easy to take their miserable souls...
