WERNERUL REPORTS ON CONDITIONS IN THE CANARY ISLANDS

Hi GT:
Reporting from Spain, things are going worse and worse each day, here in the Canary Islands unemployment is now 32%. Young people 60%. We ( my wife and me) work for the government. Our salary down last year 8% and this year another 10 %. Taxes up, 5%.Inflation up ( official 2.2% but prices are higher than that. I work as a food hygiene inspector in Industry, etc and in a slaughterhouse. Businesses are closing everyday.
I'm suppose to go in retirement in two years, but with this situation my pension is in the air. Spanish engineers are going to Germany and German pensioners are going abroad, for example, to Paraguay. They can live there with 600 euros a month. In Germany they need, in winter, 200 euros a month only for heating. If this continues this way we have to think to do the same. If not Paraguay, maybe Africa...
Nice and interesting times we have.
Best regards from Tenerife
